Brent R. Barringer

Brent is a long time resident and advocate of East Tawas, Brent and his wife Sherrie have four children and are both active members of the community.  Brent is a Certified Public Manager with a background in Operations Management, Civil Engineering and Architecture. His formal education came from Arizona State University, Michigan Technological University and Ferris State University. Brent served on the City’s Planning Commission and as our Assistant City Manager prior to becoming our City Manager.


Julie Potts
Clerk/Treasurer

Julie has been with the City of East Tawas since August 2004.  After serving as Administrative Clerk and Deputy Clerk/Treasurer, she began serving as Clerk/Treasurer in July 2015.  She graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1978 and received an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from Northwood Institute in 1980.  Julie is a Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer, a Certified Public Finance Administrator and a Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk. She is a member of the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association, Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada, Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and the Michigan Association of Planning.


Stephanie Loew
Deputy Clerk/ Utilities Billing Administrative Clerk and Zoning Administrator

Stephanie has been with the City of East Tawas since November 2011.  She was named Deputy Clerk/Treasurer in July 2015.  She graduated from Tawas Area High School in 2005 and has an Associates Degree from Alpena Community College. She is a member of the Michigan Association of Planning, the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association, Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada, Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.  Stephanie is a Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer and a Certified Michigan Municipal Clerk. Recently, Stephanie became the Zoning Administrator and Office Manager.


Grace Martin
Deputy Treasurer/Administrative Assistant/ Payroll Clerk

Grace has been with the City of East Tawas since March 2020.  She is a graduate of Tawas Area High School and a Bachelor's Degree from Albion College.  She recently took over the  Deputy Treasurer duties and has become a member of the Michigan Municipal Treasurer's Association.  
 
Andrea Miller 
Front Desk Clerk

Andrea has been with the City of East Tawas since October 2022.
